A Mixpanel alternative with one flat price

Orwel is a Mixpanel alternative for startups that want feature adoption, conversion funnels and scored leads at a fixed price. Mixpanel is a mature event analytics platform with session replay, experiments and feature flags, priced by event volume after a free tier. Orwel is narrower, has no replay or flags, and costs 49 USD per month dropping to 35 USD.

Orwel is an event analytics SDK for startups, developers and vibe coders that maps feature adoption and conversion funnels, and feeds the results back to AI agents through MCP.

The short version

Mixpanel is one of the best known product analytics tools. It describes itself as a platform that combines "analytics, session replay, experiments, feature flags, and AI-powered insights." Its paid plan grows with the number of events you send.

Orwel answers a smaller set of questions for small teams: which features people use, where they drop off before converting, which leads are worth a call and which campaigns brought them. It has one plan with no event counting.

What Mixpanel offers

Last checked October 21, 2026, on the Mixpanel pricing page and the Mixpanel home page.

Mixpanel lists product, web and mobile analytics, a Funnels report, session replay, experiments, feature flags, metric trees and warehouse connectors. On the AI side it lists Mixpanel AI agents that monitor your product, an MCP server that connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client, and a Python interface it calls Mixpanel Headless.

If you need deep event analysis across web and mobile, with replay and experiments in the same tool, Mixpanel covers more ground than Orwel.

Mixpanel pricing

Mixpanel prices by events, not by monthly tracked users. These are the public plans as listed on its pricing page:

Plan Price Events per month Included
Free 0 USD Up to 1M Unlimited seats, 10K session replays, up to 10 feature flags, 2 years of data
Growth First 1M events free, then by volume Up to 20M 20K session replays included, up to 50 feature flags, group analytics as an add-on
Enterprise Custom, through sales Up to 1T Custom retention and replay

On the Growth plan, the pricing page shows these example prices:

Events per month Billed yearly Billed monthly
1.5M 100 USD per month 140 USD per month
2M 185 USD per month 259 USD per month
5M 438 USD per month 613 USD per month
10M 840 USD per month 1,176 USD per month
20M 1,635 USD per month 2,289 USD per month

Above 20M events per month, Growth pricing goes through sales. Mixpanel also runs a startup program that gives the first year free to companies founded less than 5 years ago with up to 8M USD in total funding.

So Mixpanel's cost depends on how many events you send. A product with little traffic can stay free, and a busy one pays more each month as volume grows.

Orwel pricing

Orwel has one Pro plan at 49 USD per month. Every month you pay on time the next one costs 2 USD less, down to 35 USD. The yearly plan is 420 USD, which is 35 USD per month from day one. The plan includes everything Orwel does, with no caps on leads or visitors under fair use (up to 100,000 analyzed visitors per month), and a 14-day trial with a card. See Orwel pricing.

There is no free plan. If you are under Mixpanel's free allowance and only need its reports, Mixpanel costs less.

What Orwel does differently

  • Feature adoption. You define features in the dashboard from a catalog of 257 events, and Orwel generates the tracking code as a snippet, a typed TypeScript module or a prompt for your coding agent. The report shows unique users, weekly usage and which features need attention.
  • Steps in any order. Journeys are milestones that end in a conversion, and each milestone counts whenever it happens within the period. See conversion funnels.
  • Leads with a score. People are identified when they sign in or submit a form. Each lead gets a score from 0 to 100, intent signals and its session history.
  • Cost per qualified lead. UTMs and ad click IDs are joined with Google Ads and Meta Ads spend, so the Campaigns screen shows cost per qualified lead and spend that produced none. See ad attribution.
  • Dev mode. A development key keeps tests out of real data, and a live debugger shows each request and why it was rejected.
