An Amplitude alternative for small teams

Orwel is an Amplitude alternative for startups and builders that want feature adoption, conversion funnels and scored leads without an enterprise platform. Amplitude offers analytics, session replay, heatmaps, experiments and AI agents, priced by event volume. Orwel is narrower, has no replay or experiments, and costs one flat 49 USD per month dropping to 35 USD.

Orwel is an event analytics SDK for startups, developers and vibe coders that maps feature adoption and conversion funnels, and feeds the results back to AI agents through MCP.

The short version

Amplitude is a large digital analytics platform. Its home page groups products into insights (product analytics, marketing analytics, session replay, heatmaps), action (feature experimentation, web experimentation, feature management, guides and surveys) and AI (agents, an MCP server, agent analytics). It is built to grow with a company into the enterprise.

Orwel covers a smaller area for small teams: which features people use, where they drop off before converting, which leads are worth following up and which campaigns brought them.

What Amplitude offers

Last checked October 21, 2026, on the Amplitude pricing page and the Amplitude home page.

Besides analytics, Amplitude lists session replay, heatmaps, feature and web experiments, feature management, guides and surveys, data governance and integrations. Its AI line includes agents that "sense, analyze, and deliver optimizations," an MCP server to prompt Amplitude insights from Claude, Cursor or other AI platforms, and analytics for AI agent experiences.

If you need experiments, replay and analytics under one contract, Amplitude covers far more than Orwel.

Amplitude pricing

Amplitude prices by event volume. The plans on its pricing page:

Plan Price Volume Highlights
Free 0 USD 2M events per month Unlimited seats, 10K session replays, 1 feature and 1 web experiment, 10 saved charts, 1 year of data, no heatmaps
Plus Starts at 0 USD, card required First 2M events free, up to 70M events (700K MTU) Heatmaps, custom events and formulas, 20 cohorts, 2-year retention, unlimited saved charts
Growth Custom, event based Custom A/B/n testing, 20K replays, SSO, unlimited data access
Enterprise Custom, event based Custom Role based access, 50K replays, an account manager

The Plus plan scales with event volume, but the pricing page did not show dollar amounts for its tiers when we checked, so we do not quote one here. Growth and Enterprise go through sales.

Amplitude also lists a Startup Scholarship: startups with under 10M USD in funding and fewer than 20 employees get one free year on the Growth plan.

Orwel pricing

Orwel has one Pro plan at 49 USD per month. Every month you pay on time the next one costs 2 USD less, down to 35 USD, or you pay 420 USD per year. It includes everything Orwel does, with no caps on leads or visitors under fair use (up to 100,000 analyzed visitors per month) and a 14-day trial with a card. See Orwel pricing.

There is no free plan. If Amplitude's free plan covers your needs, it costs less.

What Orwel does differently

  • Feature adoption with generated code. Pick events for each feature from a 257-event catalog. The dashboard writes the tracking calls as a snippet, a typed TypeScript module or a prompt for your coding agent, and a status panel shows which codes are already arriving.
  • Funnels with steps in any order. Journeys count milestones whenever they happen in the period. See conversion funnels.
  • Leads with a score. People are identified when they sign in or submit a form. Each lead gets a score from 0 to 100, intent signals and its session history, and can go to HubSpot or your inbox.
  • Cost per qualified lead. UTMs and ad click IDs are kept across sessions and joined with Google Ads and Meta Ads spend. See ad attribution.
  • Dev mode. A development key keeps test traffic out of leads, emails and integrations, and a live debugger shows why any request was rejected.
